We don’t require a deposit at the time of booking. Full payment is required 14 days before the start of your stay, and it will be charged to the credit card you provided at the time of booking. If you prefer to pay via direct online banking transfer, please give us a call or email us.
Minimum stay
We require a minimum stay of two nights for guests to fully appreciate all that The Floating Forest offers. During peak holiday periods (such as Easter and Christmas), the minimum stay extends to four nights. If you’re interested in a single-night stay at our Denmark accommodation, please ask us—we’ll do our best to accommodate you, though a single-night stay incurs an additional $50 fee to cover the cost of securing our quality cleaning team on short notice.
If you can’t see the dates you want, it might be because we’re fully booked or due to our minimum stay policy. Give us a call or send us an email if you don’t see availability for your preferred dates, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Changing or cancelling
We understand that even the best plans can change. Yes, you can change your booking, provided you give us at least 14 days’ notice. Please call or email us, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your changes.
You can cancel your booking, provided you give us at least 14 days’ notice. Just give us a call or send us an email.
Children and extra guests
Children are welcome, however, please note we have a small unfenced pond on the property so we ask you keep a very close eye on your children at all times. We also welcome infants up to 2 years old. We can provide a portacot and high chair.
The Karri, Wandoo, Tingle, and Burl chalets each accommodate two people (one bed) comfortably. The Jarrah chalets is designed for four people, making it suitable for small families. Please contact us if you need to accommodate an extra person. We have a rollaway bed or a Glamswag that can be squeezed into any of the chalets.
Dogs and cats
Our chalets are not dog friendly. We have been known to make exceptions for well-behaved non-shedding dogs. Let us know if your friendly pooch meets this criteria. Unfortunately, we’re not a cat friendly location.
Our Furry Friends
In the chalets our unique Forest Furry Friends (native bush mice) can sometimes sneak inside, especially in our Jarrah and Wandoo chalets. They are a common feature in the Great Southern Region, but not everyone loves them. If you see one don’t be alarmed, they are harmless. Give us a call or drop us a text and we will come and take it out for you. To help stop them getting inside please try and leave the doors closed and don’t leave food lying around in the chalets.
Travel directions
Enter ‘168 Mount Shadforth Road, Denmark’ into Google Maps. As you drive up Mount Shadforth Road from the Denmark township, the entrance is on your right. Once you enter The Floating Forest, keep to your left and follow the signs to your chalet. Our internal roads are made of well-maintained gravel suitable for all vehicle types. Please drive slowly and keep an eye out for our resident kangaroos on the roads.
Parking
Each chalet has a dedicated parking space, with additional room for a boat or trailer.
Checking In and Out
We will text you when your chalet is ready. We aim to have your chalet ready by 2pm. Once you have received your welcome text from us, you can then enter your chalet. Even though you won’t meet us when you check-in, we’re always available if you need assistance.
Check-out is by 10am on your day of departure. Our check-out time allows us to clean and prepare the chalets for our new incoming guests. We pride ourselves on the high standard of cleanliness of our chalets so the turnover window is precious in order to ensure this high standard.
Accommodation only
Our chalets are for your use with the amenities as described in this website. We don’t have a restaurant on site and we don’t provide breakfast. We encourage you to visit the local supermarkets on your way. We’re always happy to provide restaurant recommendations. You can see our favourites here. We don’t provide a transport service to/from town or local wineries but we can recommend local providers to you, such as Denmark Wine Lovers Tours.
We do not operate a day spa or float tanks. We welcome our guests to connect with our preferred local provider, Sacred Alignment Co, who can come to our chalet and provide relaxing massages, facial treatments and foot baths.
Business facilities
We’re located in a Telstra 5G zone, ensuring robust and reliable connectivity. Free high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. For any urgent work needs, we can assist with ad hoc printing and scanning facilities.
