Chalet
Is The Floating Forest pet friendly?
Our chalets in Denmark are not dog friendly. The Floating Forest is a sanctuary for native animals that will get scared if unknown animals are on site. We have been known to make exceptions for well-behaved non-shedding dogs. Let us know if your friendly pooch meets this criteria. Unfortunately, we’re not a cat friendly location.
In the chalets our unique Forest Furry Friends (native bush mice) can sometimes sneak inside, especially in our Jarrah and Wandoo chalets. They are a common feature in the Great Southern Region, but not everyone loves them. If you see one don’t be alarmed, they are harmless. Give us a call or drop us a text and we will come and take it out for you. To help stop them getting inside please try and leave the doors closed and don’t leave food lying around in the chalets.
Is The Floating Forest child friendly?
Yes. The two bedroom multi-level Jarrah chalet can accommodate a small family of up to four people. All other chalets have one bed and are designed for up to two people. All chalets can accommodate an extra person by squeezing in our rollaway bed or one of our Glamswags. We can also provide a portacot and a high chair for your infant. It’s best to call to discuss your needs.
Can I smoke?
Smoking is not permitted at any time inside our chalets. When smoking outside, please be mindful that The Floating Forest is in a bushfire zone. Guests who do not respect this serious rule will be asked to leave the property.
In the event that guests smoke inside the chalet or near the chalet and residue smell is unable to be removed with general cleaning, an additional fee of up to $300 for specialised cleaning will be charged to the credit card you provided to pay for your booking.
Do you provide firewood?
Yes, firewood is complimentary. Firewood and a firestarter kit are provided upon arrival, contact us if you require more firewood during your stay. But if DIY is not your thing, the on-site staff are happy to get your fire crackling.
Can I use the fireplaces all year round?
Shire restrictions are in place during the summer months and we do not allow our indoor fireplaces to be used during these times. The Floating Forest is in a bushfire prone zone, therefore no outdoor open fires are permitted at any time. You are welcome to use your balcony BBQ at any time. Thank you for understanding.
Do you have on site laundry facilities?
If you’re a guest in our Jarrah chalet then you have your own private laundry with washing machine, washing powder, and drying rack. If you’re staying in any of our other chalets, then you will need to go into Denmark town and use the public laundromat.
Can we park our camper trailer or boat on the property?
Yes. The Floating Forest is set on about 25 acres, and about 5 acres are cleared, so there are plenty of options to park your camper trailer or boat on-site.

Why can’t I see the dates I want to book?
If you can’t see the dates you want, it might be because we are fully booked or it could be due to our minimum stay policy for that time of the year. Give us a call or send us an email if you don’t see availability for your preferred dates, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Do you have a minimum stay?
Yes, we require a minimum stay of two nights for guests to fully appreciate all that The Floating Forest offers. During peak holiday periods (such as Easter and Christmas), the minimum stay extends to four nights. If you’re interested in a single-night stay at our Denmark accommodation, please ask us—we’ll do our best to accommodate you, though a single-night stay incurs an additional $50 fee to cover the cost of securing our quality cleaning team on short notice.
When do I pay for my stay?
We don’t require a deposit at the time of booking. Full payment is required 14 days before the start of your stay, and it will be charged to the credit card you provided at the time of booking. If you prefer to pay via direct online banking transfer, please give us a call or email us.

Once you receive your welcome text, you can enter your chalet at your convenience. Even though you won’t meet us at check-in, we’re always available if you need assistance.
What time is check-out?
